FSCJ Women’s Basketball Strengthens Coaching Staff with Addition of Skye Green
Florida State College at Jacksonville Women's Basketball is excited to announce the addition of Skye Green to the Manta Rays coaching staff for the upcoming 2025–26 season.
Green joins FSCJ after serving as an Assistant Coach at Hiram College, where she helped lead the Terriers to the No. 6 seed in the NCAC Tournament during her first season on staff. Her leadership and energy quickly made an impact as she helped guide the program to one of its strongest finishes in recent years.
Before beginning her coaching career, Green was a standout student-athlete with 73 career Division I games under her belt. She most recently competed for Texas Southern University (2020–2023), an HBCU located in Houston, Texas. During her time with the Tigers, Green started 12 games and scored in all but one of her 17 appearances in the 2022–23 season. She notched a career-high 11 points against Prairie View A&M on January 28, 2023, and recorded eight rebounds in two different contests against Alabama A&M and Bethune-Cookman.
Prior to Texas Southern, Green played at UNC Asheville (2018–2020), where she contributed in 18 games over two seasons.
A native of Florida, Green was a four-year letterwinner at Flagler-Palm Coast High School, excelling in both basketball and track & field. She earned multiple honors during her prep career, including being named the 2016 Daytona News-Journal Player of the Year. Beyond her on-court success, Green was also known for giving back to her community, mentoring young athletes and teaching the fundamentals of basketball.
Head Coach Jessica Eaton expressed her enthusiasm for the newest member of the staff, saying:
"Coach Green is an amazing addition to our program. As a recent player, she brings a fresh perspective and a strong connection to the modern game. Her energy, experience, and vision align perfectly with where we're trying to take this program. Having her on staff was essential as we continue building a powerhouse here at FSCJ."
With her blend of Division I playing experience, coaching knowledge, and passion for player development, Coach Skye Green is set to play a key role in helping the Manta Rays continue their upward trajectory in the 2025–26 season.
