Head Women's Basketball Coach

Bio

Jessica Eaton enters her sixth season with the Florida State College at Jacksonville women's basketball program and her third season as Head Coach. After spending two seasons as a volunteer assistant, she was promoted to assistant coach before taking over the program in 2024.

Since joining the FSCJ staff in 2021, Eaton has played a vital role in all aspects of the program, including recruiting, player development, scouting, and daily basketball operations. In her first two seasons as head coach, she guided the Manta Rays to consecutive winning records (14-12 and 16-12), marking the program's first back-to-back winning seasons in nearly a decade. During that span, the program has also produced an NJCAA All-American, multiple All-Conference selections, and continued to excel in the classroom, posting a 3.11 cumulative team GPA.

A Central Florida native with deep coaching roots, Eaton returned to collegiate coaching after taking time away from the profession to focus on raising her family. Prior to joining FSCJ, she served as an assistant coach at Oviedo High School in 2015 after spending four seasons (2009-12) as the junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant at Hagerty High School. She began her coaching career at Lyman High School in 2008 and was also active on the AAU circuit with D.E.B.O. Basketball from 2008-10. Additionally, she served as Summer Camp Director for Winning Ways Basketball Camps from 2011-13.

During the summer months, Eaton serves as an assistant coach for the Jacksonville Waves of the Upshot League, continuing her commitment to player development at the professional level.

Eaton and her husband, Shanon, are the proud parents of two children, Joy and Asher. She is an honors graduate of Florida State College at Jacksonville, where she earned her Associate of Arts degree, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from the University of Florida.
