Volleyball Makes Waves in the Classroom
Florida State College at Jacksonville's volleyball team closed out the fall semester with a remarkable team GPA of 3.37, demonstrating a strong commitment to both athletics and academics. This semester, seven players earned spots on the President's and Dean's Lists, showcasing the team's dedication to excellence in the classroom as well as on the court.
Five players achieved the President's List for outstanding academic performance:
- Ella Jonášová (Sophomore)
- Keira Hundley (Freshman)
- Lenke Storms (Freshman)
- Maison Turner (Sophomore)
- Marlo Burke (Freshman)
Two players were honored on the Dean's List for their strong academic achievement:
- Madelynn Richter (Freshman)
- Hailey Tharp (Sophomore)
This recognition reflects the Manta Rays' culture of discipline, focus, and balance. The coaching staff emphasizes that success isn't only measured by victories on the court, but also by the ability to excel academically.
"These student-athletes set the standard," said Coach Hinck. "Their academic success matches the intensity and commitment they bring to our program."
With a team GPA that surpasses any since 2021, the FSCJ volleyball program demonstrates that success in athletics and academics go hand in hand. Their dedication sets a standard for all student-athletes, and the team is excited to build on this momentum and achieve even more academic success in the next semester.
