Bio

Rylie Engelson was named Head Volleyball Coach at Florida State College at Jacksonville in 2026, leading both the Manta Rays' indoor and beach volleyball teams. She brings a proven track record in program rebuilding, recruiting, student-athlete development, and championship-level competition.

Across five seasons in collegiate coaching, Engelson has compiled a 95–39 overall record (.709 winning percentage), consistently elevating the programs she has served. Her coaching philosophy centers on accountability, competitive preparation, strong relationships, and creating an environment in which student-athletes develop academically, athletically, and personally.

Engelson joins FSCJ from Treasure Valley Community College, where she took over a program coming off an 0–24 season and engineered a complete turnaround. In 2025–26, the Chukars finished 32–4 and captured the first NWAC Volleyball Championship in program history, following a 26–4 campaign the previous year. For her role in the historic rebuild, Engelson was named both the NWAC Coach of the Year and the East Region Coach of the Year.

Under her leadership, Treasure Valley student-athletes earned East Region MVP, Baden Player of the Year, All-Region selections, NWAC Championship Tournament honors, and AVCA All-American recognition while sustaining a 3.6 cumulative team GPA over four years and advancing to four-year institutions.

Prior to Treasure Valley, Engelson served as assistant and interim head coach at Walla Walla Community College, helping guide the Warriors to an 18–8 record, a second-place East Region finish, and an NWAC Championship Tournament appearance. She also compiled a 51–7 record at Timberline High School in Boise, Idaho, winning back-to-back district championships and earning 2017 Southern Idaho Conference Coach of the Year honors. Her club experience with nationally ranked Idaho Crush Volleyball spans the 16U, 17U, and 18U levels, including national qualifier teams.

As a student-athlete, Engelson competed at Mt. Hood Community College and Eastern Oregon University, earning two-time All-American honors across two collegiate divisions, NWAC Player of the Year recognition, and MVP of a junior college championship team.
