Manta Rays Fall to Seminole State, 7–4 in First Midweek of the Season
The FSCJ Manta Rays were defeated 7–4 by the Seminole State College of Florida Raiders on Tuesday.
FSCJ struck first in the opening inning when Masto delivered an RBI single to put the Manta Rays ahead 1–0. Seminole State answered in the bottom half with an RBI single by Hurt to tie the game. The Raiders then took control in the second inning when Abreut launched a grand slam to right field, giving Seminole State a 5–1 advantage.
Bradley got the start on the mound for FSCJ, allowing five runs (four earned) on five hits over two innings while striking out one and walking four. Hansen provided steady relief, tossing 3.2 innings and giving up two runs on five hits while striking out four without issuing a walk. Chambers started for the Raiders and held FSCJ to one run on three hits over four innings, recording seven strikeouts.
The Manta Rays finished with 10 hits. MacGillivray and Daneault each recorded two hits, while Collins, Masto, and Daneault drove in one run apiece.
