Newman delivered in a big way Tuesday, driving in four runs on two hits to power the FSCJ Manta Rays to a 12–7 win over South Georgia State College. He launched a three-run home run to right field in the seventh inning and added a run-scoring single later in the frame to cap a massive offensive outburst.
South Georgia State struck first in the third inning, capitalizing on a walk, an FSCJ error, a single down the right field line, and a double play to plate multiple runs and build an early lead.
The game shifted dramatically in the top of the seventh when FSCJ erupted for 11 runs on eight hits to take control, 12–7. Newman's three-run homer highlighted the inning as the Manta Rays flipped the momentum in one explosive frame.
Bradley started on the mound for FSCJ, allowing four runs (two earned) over three innings while striking out two and walking three. South Georgia State's starter, #13, kept FSCJ quiet through five scoreless innings before the bullpen faltered. Hansen provided a scoreless inning of relief for the Manta Rays, striking out two without allowing a hit.

The FSCJ Manta Rays outhit South Georgia State College seven to nine on Tuesday but came up short in a 10–5 loss.
The Hawks wasted no time taking control in the first inning. A bases-loaded walk brought in a run, followed by a grand slam to left field quickly put South Georgia State ahead. FSCJ responded in the second when McFarlin launched a solo home run to left, trimming the deficit.
South Georgia State extended its lead in the third. After a sacrifice fly and a two-run double, South Georgia stretched the advantage further.
Wilfong started on the mound for the Manta Rays, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on three hits over two innings while striking out four and walking three. Caraynoff provided steady relief, tossing 3.1 innings and giving up one run on four hits with two strikeouts.
FSCJ totaled nine hits in the game, with Collins and Martineau each recording two. McFarlin, Newman, Morales, and Martineau drove in one run apiece. The Manta Rays also showed discipline at the plate, drawing seven walks. Harnage and Newman led the team with two free passes each.
Despite solid offensive production and patience at the plate, the early deficit proved too much to overcome.
